The London Law Program provides opportunities for development both in and out of the classroom with the opportunity for externships during both the semester and year-long programs. All students in London are eligible to apply for an externship. Past students have worked for organizations that include law firms, multinational corporations, British solicitors and barristers, non-profit organizations, and the U.S. Embassy. Past participating employers have included KPMG, Laura Devine Solicitors, Rodney Dixon QC, the U.S. Embassy, and the Islington Law Centre, among others.
Students have pursued externships in areas of practice that include human rights, intellectual property law, commercial and property law, tax law, family law, technology and energy law, international and comparative law, and poverty assistance. Throughout the semester, students will complete not just work for their externship placement, but helpful personal analysis to develop professional skills that will be useful long after the conclusion of the externship.
