Experiential Learning

Clinics

Clinics are teaching law offices where students work as lead attorneys on real cases under the close supervision of seasoned faculty members.

Externships (Field Placements)

Externships offer an opportunity for second-year and third-year students to earn academic credit while working in outside law offices or judicial chambers.

Skills Courses

In addition to developing practice skills through live client representation in clinics, externships, and pro bono programs, NDLS students can hone a range of lawyering skills through hands-on simulation courses that require them to perform lawyering tasks.

Galilee

Galilee is a signature NDLS course through which first year students explore a range of practice areas through on-the-ground experiences around the country.

Immersion Courses

The Law School offers several other courses that allow students to do important learning outside of the South Bend campus.
