Visiting campus is the best way to experience the distinctive qualities of the University of Notre Dame and the Law School. We encourage you to join us during the academic year to visit a class and meet with current students. Please note: Notre Dame is located in the Eastern time zone.

To RSVP: Please complete the form available in each event description in the calendar below. Please register at least four business days prior to the date you want to attend the visit program. A member of the Admissions Office will respond to you within two business days to confirm your visit. Space is limited, so please register early.

Groups/Pre-Law Societies: We are happy to host groups (pre-law societies, etc.) for a visit. Please contact Sharon Bacon at lawadmit@nd.edu prior to scheduling your trip to ensure your entire group can be accommodated on your requested date. Each student should also register individually through the form below.

Travel Information

Traveling by Air
Notre Dame is about 15 minutes from South Bend International Airport (SBN), which offers daily service from Atlanta, Chicago, Detroit, Newark, and Minneapolis via Delta and United. Allegiant offers flights between South Bend and Las Vegas, Orlando, Phoenix-Mesa, Punta Gorda, and St. Petersburg-Clearwater.

Chicago O’Hare and Chicago Midway airports are accessible via Coach USA (3 to 3.5 hours) or by car (2 to 2.5 hours).

Traveling by Car 
From the Toll Road (east or west): We’re located just south of the Indiana Toll Road (Interstate 80/90). Exit I-80/90 at Exit 77 and turn right onto Indiana 933. Make a left at the fourth stop light (Angela Boulevard) then turn left at either the first (Notre Dame Avenue), or second stoplight (Eddy Street). Follow signs to visitor parking, located in the Walsh Architecture Visitors Lot on the south end of campus.

From the south: Take U.S. 31 north which becomes Indiana 933 just south of the city of South Bend. Stay on Indiana 933 through downtown South Bend to Angela Boulevard. Turn right onto Angela, and then turn left at either the first (Notre Dame Avenue), or second stoplight (Eddy Street). Follow signs to visitor parking, located in the Walsh Architecture Visitors Lot on the south end of campus.

Traveling by Bus
Coach USA provides bus service from Chicago O’Hare and Midway Airports directly to the Notre Dame campus. Additional bus services are provided by Greyhound and Hoosier Ride via terminals at the South Bend International Airport.

Traveling by Train
The South Shore Railroad provides service from downtown Chicago to the South Bend International Airport. National train service is provided by Amtrak.

Getting a Taxi/Uber in South Bend

Time Zone Note
The University of Notre Dame is located in the Eastern Time Zone. If you are traveling to campus from Chicago, please note that you will “lose” an hour during your commute. Campus is approximately a 2 to 2.5 hour drive from O’Hare. A driver leaving O’Hare at 9:00 a.m. Central should arrive on campus at approximately Noon or 12:30 p.m. Eastern. Similarly, a driver leaving campus at 1 p.m. Eastern should arrive at O’Hare at approximately 2:00 or 2:30 p.m. Central.
