Congratulations to JonMarc Buffa who was appointed an Alternate Secretary on the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s (“CFTC”) Energy and Environmental Markets Advisory Committee (“EEMAC”). EEMAC provides advice and recommendations to the CFTC on a variety of regulatory and market issues that affect the integrity and competitiveness of U.S. markets and facilitates communication between the CFTC and market participants, other regulators, and academics. EEMAC will discuss the broader move to electrification and other solutions to advance sustainability and America’s transition to renewable and cleaner energy. Specifically, Buffa will lead the Metals Subcommittee which focuses on the role of the metals market as components in transitional energy sources and the potential impact on financial markets regulated by the CFTC. Additionally, Buffa will continue to serve as Assistant Chief, Office of Cooperative Enforcement, and an Adjunct Professor of Law at Georgetown Law School.
