In Memoriam: Philip B. Byrne, ’63 J.D.

It is with great sadness that the law school announces the passing of Philip Byrne, '63 J.D., on October 26, 2018, in St. Paul, Minnesota. In addition to serving the city of St. Paul in the city attorney’s office as a criminal prosecutor for more than 27 years, Byrne previously worked as Executive Director of Alaska Legal Services advocating for the rights of indigent people across the state as well as litigating reforms to alleviate poverty and discriminatory conditions for native Alaskans.
