In Memoriam: George B. Newitt, ’48 J.D.

George Newitt, attorney and longtime Wheaton College trustee, died at the age of 100 in Wheaton, Illinois on April 18, 2018. Newitt began his legal career working in the law department at United States Rubber. In 1953, he joined the Chicago intellectual property firm Bair, Freeman & Molinare where he remained until his retirement in 1993. Newitt served as an active trustee of Wheaton College from 1967-1990 and then served as a trustee emeritus for another 28 years. Read more about Newitt’s many contributions here.
