    Alwyn Barnard is a dynamic and ambitious Masters of Law student from the University of Cape Town in South Africa, characterized by an unwavering commitment to excellence, strong work ethic, and a passion for continuous learning. He holds in Bachelor of Commerce in Financial Accounting: Accounting with Law and Bachelor of Laws, the combination of which has inspired him to pursue a Masters of Law in Commercial Law. His interest, therefore, lies within the commercial world, particularly how the commercial world and its business-related concepts intertwine and mould with the legal system. Although he is excited to enhance his understanding of the law, he is most excited to interact with a new community that offers differing perspectives and insights with respect to their view of the world, approach to solving legal issues and understanding of what it means to be a legal practitioner.

    Robyn Kell is a third-year law student at Trinity College Dublin. She was born in Philadelphia but have lived in Ireland her whole life. Robyn has an interest in Jurisprudence and the philosophical side of law. An achievement that she is most proud of is her success in being elected to a scholarship at Trinity College in April 2024. Robyn also loves to play piano and hockey in her free time. During her exchange semester at Notre Dame Law School, she is most excited to support the Notre Dame football team on game days. Go Irish!

    Oisin McGauran is from County Westmeath, the heart of Ireland, and is a law student at Trinity College Dublin. He is currently in his third year of study, spending the fall semester abroad at the University of Notre Dame as part of his academic exchange.

    His primary academic interests lie in corporate law and comparative constitutional law. Outside of the classroom, he is an avid participant in Gaelic football and hurling and has been active in various university societies and competitions.

    Oisin looks forward to engaging with the academic community at Notre Dame and immersing himself in student life. He is especially eager to experience Notre Dame’s vibrant football tradition and explore the enduring legal and cultural ties between Ireland and the United States. He also enjoys meeting new people and looks forward to connecting with peers throughout his time at Notre Dame.

    Rían Ó Gallachóir is a law student at Trinity College Dublin with a strong academic focus on corporate law and corporate finance. His interest in these areas grew from his involvement with the Trinity College Student Managed Fund and was further developed through internships at both Matheson and Goodbody Stockbrokers. Rían is passionate about understanding the intersection of law and financial markets and hopes to pursue a career in this space. Outside the classroom, Rían is a keen sports enthusiast and serves as a sports ambassador for Trinity College. He has a particular love for Gaelic football, and is heavily involved in the Trinity College GAA club. During his time at Notre Dame, he is excited to immerse himself in the famous Fighting Irish spirit, especially game days and tailgating, and looks forward to representing the Notre Dame GAA club on the field.

    Katharina Reidt is a law student from Germany, studying at Humboldt University of Berlin, where she recently completed her third year of studies. Her academic focus lies in the Europeanization and internationalization of private and commercial law, with particular interest in intellectual property, competition, and sports law. She wrote her bachelor's thesis on the liability of host providers for infringements of intellectual property and personality rights. Katharina also gained experience working at several law firms, where she focused on these areas in practice. Before preparing for her First State Examination, she is excited to spend a semester at Notre Dame Law School. She looks forward to engaging with a new academic environment, gaining insight into the common law tradition, exploring comparative perspectives, and connecting with students and professors. Beyond the classroom, she is eager to experience life on an American campus and become part of the vibrant Notre Dame community.

    Émile Renner-Arsenault is an international exchange student from Humboldt University in Berlin, Germany. He will be studying at NDLS for one semester. During his studies, he specialized in intellectual property law. Looking ahead, he is particularly drawn to litigation and envisions the possibility of working in an international context. This has deepened his interest in examining the international aspects of civil law more thoroughly. Therefore, at NDLS, he hopes to build lasting friendships and meaningful academic connections. In his free time, he is an athlete. At the beginning of his studies, he discovered martial arts. He is now an avid Muay Thai practitioner and is currently expanding his skills in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Beyond this, he’s a passionate hiker. His last adventure was the “Peaks of the Balkans” trail. At Notre Dame, he looks forward to participating in campus life and embracing the cultural differences between Europe and the United States.

    Emma Tünke is an international exchange student from the Humboldt University of Berlin, Germany. Emma recently obtained her Bachelor of Laws, specializing in intellectual property law, especially trademark and media law. An internship focusing on compliance and competition law enriched her academic interests. In addition, she was employed as a working student at a law firm specializing in corporate and inheritance law. During her time as an exchange student, she aims to enhance her understanding of the American legal system and become part of the Notre Dame Law School community. Beyond her academic pursuits, Emma is passionate about sports and looks forward to the university football season. She has been doing ballet since she was three years old and occasionally takes contemporary dance and pilates classes. Overall, Emma hopes her time at Notre Dame will provide her with valuable experiences and lasting international connections.
