Samira Mathias (India) is a lawyer from India specializing in public international law, human rights, and legal philosophy. She earned her previous law degrees at Gujarat National Law University (BA LLB), the University of Oxford (BCL), and Yale Law School (LLM). Samira's prior work experience includes a year at the European Court of Human Rights (as Yale's Robina Fellow), two years teaching law and legal theory at Indian universities, and working with NGOs and international organizations across India, Sri Lanka, Germany, Switzerland, and the United States, on issues related to international law and transitional justice. During the JSD, Samira aims to focus on understanding the role of collective action and collective ideals in human rights litigation.
