2008 Moot Court Showcase

Notre Dame Law School will present its 58th annual Moot Court Showcase Argument on Thursday, February 21, in the Judge Norman C. Barry Courtroom. All four advocates on the case are third-year law students.

The case involves the contention of legislation intended to reform existing handgun and ammunition regulations enacted after a state senator shot and killed 12 of his senate colleagues. Attorneys for the petitioners are Sherene Awad and Akia Haynes. Advocates for the respondents are Jeffrey Houin and Matthew Morrison.

The case will be tried before Judge Thomas L. Ambro and Judge Thomas A. Hardiman '87 of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and Judge Margaret A. Ryan '95 J.D. of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces.
