Thomas L. Shaffer Memorial Celebration set for April 8

All friends, students, colleagues, and admirers of Professor Emeritus and former Dean Tom Shaffer are invited to join family members in celebrating his work and life April 8 in the Law School’s Eck Commons immediately after the 5:15 p.m. Mass in the St. Thomas More Chapel.

A towering figure among the community of scholars exploring interdisciplinary issues at the intersection of law and religion, law and community, law and humanities, and law and literature, Professor Shaffer was also the spiritual center of the Law School’s Legal Aid Clinic and regarded as a beloved mentor by every clinician who served there.

Food and refreshments will be served beginning at 6 p.m. and there will be an opportunity to hear and share memories of the man who changed the lives of so many.
