ND Law Religious Liberty Clinic 2023-2024 Information Session

Religious Liberty Clinic

For students interested in participating in the Notre Dame Law School Religious Liberty Clinic next year, there will be an information session on Wednesday, April 5 at 12:30 p.m. in 3140 Eck Hall of Law. Chipotle will be served.  

The Religious Liberty Clinic provides students the opportunity to learn the practice of law by representing real clients in defense of religious liberty for all faiths. Next year, the Religious Liberty Clinic will offer opportunities to students interested in this work in three different practice areas: 

• Domestic Litigation: Students participate in both direct representation of parties and amicus work before all levels U.S. courts and administrative agencies.
• Transactional Advising: Students work directly with a variety of religious nonprofit organizations to advise them on tax, corporate, transactional, employment, and strategic issues. 
• Global Religious Persecution & Immigration: Students will have the chance to work on issues related to international religious persecution, including representing religious clients seeking asylum in the U.S. and assisting with other government officials and NGOs seeking to investigate and address these issues in other countries.

At the information session, students participating in the Clinic this year will speak about their experiences and instructors will provide more details about our work and the process for applying to the Clinic.  All students who enroll in the Clinic receive graded experiential credit toward graduation.  

Students who would like to participate in the Clinic from Notre Dame's London Programme in the Spring semester will be considered on a case by case basis.  To participate in the Clinic from London, students will also need to apply for the London Law Programme. To do this you should contact Mary Denyer, the London Law Programme Manager (mdenyer@nd.edu). Further information about the London Programme can be found here. Acceptance for the Religious Liberty Clinic does not guarantee a place on the London Law Programme.
