Journal of International & Comparative Law – 2022 Symposium

The Notre Dame Journal of International and Comparative Law is excited to announce its 12th annual Symposium: “International and Comparative Approaches to Culture.”

This hybrid Symposium will take place Friday, March 18, 2022, from 10:15 a.m. to 3 p.m. The journal staff encourages the entire Notre Dame Law School community of faculty, staff, and students to attend.

The first panel will center on cultural internationalism and cultural nationalism and will discuss questions of access, preservation, and repatriation of cultural property, property disputes, morality, and amicable dispute resolution. The second panel will center on relevant domestic and international law dealing with the challenges of cultural appropriation and will discuss questions of intellectual property in the realm of fashion and traditional knowledge, contracts, and international human rights. Dean G. Marcus Cole will provide lunchtime remarks and attendees will have a chance to meet panelists during coffee chats at the end of the symposium.
