Education, Trauma, and Title IX

-

Location: Via Zoom

The Education Law Forum and Health Law Society invite you to a presentation "Education, Trauma, and Title IX" by Professor Jeannie Suk Gersen of Harvard Law School. Join us on Zoom on Monday, March 15 at 5 p.m.  The talk will be followed by Q&A. Feel free to submit questions ahead of time.

Gersen is an expert on the law of sexual assault and harassment. She describes herself as a feminist law professor and her views on our topic are nuanced and complex. The Chronicle of Higher Education wrote of her, "She has staked out a position at once conventional and embattled. She shares #MeToo’s goal of ending the impunity surrounding sexual assault. But she remains committed to the principles of due process, presumption of innocence, and the right to a fair hearing." Gersen is the first Asian-American woman and second woman of color to receive tenure at Harvard Law School. She served as a law clerk to Justice David Souter on the United States Supreme Court and prosecuted domestic violence in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.

Links to submit questions and join the meeting are on the Law School Calendar of Events.
