The Supreme Court will hear three consolidated cases in October addressing the meaning of the prohibition of discrimination on the basis of sex in Title VII and whether that statute’s meaning extends to cases of discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity. Ryan T. Anderson, the William E. Simon Senior Research Fellow in American Principles & Public Policy at the Heritage Foundation, will discuss these cases and the arguments at play on both sides of the debate over the meaning of Title VII.
