Grace Mills joined the Law School in 2025 as an associate clinical professor of law and the director of the Law School's Intellectual Property Clinic. Most recently, Mills was a partner in the Washington, DC, office of Finnegan LLP. In her practice, Mills represented clients in district courts around the country, before the Patent and Trademark Office (PTO), and at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, where she also served as a law clerk to Chief Judge Kimberly Moore. Prior to law school, Mills worked as a patent agent, drafting and prosecuting patent applications before the PTO.
Mills holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Northwestern University and graduated magna cum laude from Notre Dame Law School, where she was an oralist on the Moot Court Board and was awarded the Dean’s Award for Trial Advocacy and the International Academy of Trial Advocacy Award for Trial Skills.
Mills lives in South Bend with her husband and four sons.
