Elaine brings over a decade of experience in international education, specializing in immigration advising, cross-cultural counseling, and community-building for international students. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Sciences, with concentrations in Political Science and Psychology, and a Master’s in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).

Prior to joining the Law School, Elaine served as the Senior Student Immigration Advisor at Notre Dame Global's International Student and Scholar Affairs (ISSA), where she provided comprehensive support to international students navigating the complexities of immigration policies. and held similar advising roles at Iowa State University. Fluent in Mandarin, Malay, and several dialects, Elaine offers a holistic, culturally responsive approach to advising and advocacy.

Elaine is deeply committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment for international students, ensuring they receive the guidance and resources necessary to succeed in their academic and professional pursuits. 
Beyond her professional commitments, Elaine engages in various leisure activities, including traveling, playing badminton, swimming, reading, and immersing herself in diverse cultures. Additionally, she actively volunteers with her church and within her community and appreciates attending local theatrical performances.
