He teaches product liability—one of his specialties in practice before taking the bench. Formerly a partner at Barnes & Thornburg LLP, Judge Leichty represented clients as a trial lawyer in more than 30 federal and state jurisdictions across the United States. He clerked for The Hon. Robert L. Miller, Jr. He received his A.B. summa cum laude from Wabash College, his M.Litt. from the University of Aberdeen in Scotland, and his J.D. cum laude from Indiana University Maurer School of Law. A recipient of several awards, Judge Leichty tries to honor the generosity of others by giving back to the community through service on several non-profit boards. He is also a past president of the Robert A. Grant Inn of Court.
