Caleb Stone joined the Notre Dame Law faculty in 2025 as an associate clinical professor of law and founding director of the Notre Dame Veterans Law Clinic. He previously held an academic appointment at William & Mary Law School, where he served as Professor of Practice and co-directed the Lewis B. Puller, Jr. Veterans Benefits Clinic. During his nine years at William & Mary, Professor Stone’s clients received over $6 million in past-due benefits and over $40 million in lifetime expected benefits. In 2017, he co-created and directed a non-degree certificate program on disability compensation that endured throughout his tenure and served as that law school’s first significant foray into online education.

Professor Stone has also taught Legal Research & Writing to J.D. and LL.M. students. He has taught numerous CLEs, presented on various panels, published law review articles, and provided Congressional testimony. He currently serves on the Virginia Supreme Court’s Veterans Treatment Dockets Advisory Committee.

Professor Stone received his B.S. in Political Science from Kennesaw State University (summa cum laude) in 2011 and J.D. from William & Mary Law School (cum laude) in 2015, where he received the Benjamin Stoddert Ewell Award for outstanding leadership and public service.
