She teaches clinical and doctrinal courses in entrepreneurship law, and has also co-taught an interdisciplinary travel seminar-studio, Property, Agency and the Built Environment, in Detroit, Rio de Janeiro, and São Paulo. She has founded, directed, and taught in transactional law clinics at multiple law schools, supervising student attorneys in advising clients ranging from mission-driven startups and nonprofits to Main Street small businesses. Professor Choike's current scholarship interests include clinical pedagogy; the intersection of corporate and securities law with local government law; and feminist legal theory and methods. She serves as Of Counsel at Peak Legal, a Warsaw-based law firm specializing in complex technology projects.
Her articles have been published in the Harvard Business Law Review, the Columbia Journal of Tax Law, and the Michigan Business & Entrepreneurial Law Review. She initiated and co-edited Feminist Judgments: Corporate Law Rewritten (Cambridge University Press 2023), to which she also contributed two co-authored chapters. Her works in progress include an archival study of American regional stock exchanges and their lessons for financial inclusion and startup capital formation. She has presented on corporate governance, securities law, feminist legal theory, and clinical legal education at conferences and universities internationally and domestically.
Before entering academia, Choike was an associate at Jenner & Block and Stroock & Stroock & Lavan in New York City, where she primarily represented Fortune 50 companies, financial institutions, and private equity-backed companies on capital markets and strategic transactions. Professor Choike received her B.A. from Cornell University, and her J.D. and M.U.P. from the University of Michigan. She holds a certificate in Polish language and culture from Jagiellonian University.
Choike lives in South Bend with her husband, daughter, and son.
