Allan Munyao Mukuki is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, legal academic and policy consultant with more than a decade of experience in higher education, legal practice, research and international consultancy. He is a faculty member and Management Committee member at Strathmore Law School, where he teaches public international law, international refugee law, international humanitarian law and human rights law. He is also the founding Director of the Forced Migration and Displacement Research Hub, through which he leads interdisciplinary research, policy engagement and capacity building initiatives on refugee protection, forced displacement and durable solutions in Kenya, East Africa and the Horn of Africa.
Allan has just finalised his Doctor of Laws degree at Stellenbosch University. His doctoral research examines regional cooperation and the harmonisation of refugee protection and management within the East African Community. His broader research interests include forced migration, refugee self-reliance, regional integration, non-refoulement, climate-related displacement, refugee children’s rights and the relationship between international law and domestic legal systems. Beyond research and teaching, he is passionate about mentoring students and young professionals, experiential legal education, access to justice and developing practical legal and policy solutions for displaced and vulnerable communities.
