Congratulations, Class of 2019! Below is a schedule of this year's Law School Commencement events.

Friday, May 17

Law School Awards Ceremony
2:30 p.m., 
Washington Hall (map)
This event is by invitation only for students receiving honors, dean’s list, and class awards. Invitations will be sent in mid-to-late April.
Seating is limited. Tickets are required for family and friends. Doors will open at 2:00 p.m.

Reception for Law Graduates
3:30 p.m., 
Eck Hall of Law (map)
After the Awards Ceremony has concluded, all law graduates and their guests are welcome to attend a reception with light refreshments at the Law School.

Saturday, May 18

Law School Prayer Service
9:30 a.m., 
Basilica of the Sacred Heart (map)

It’s a tradition for the Law School’s Commencement activities to begin with a prayer service for the entire class. (Note: This is not a Mass.) Graduates will line up at the Law School at 9:00 a.m. and process together to the Basilica.
Seating is limited. Tickets are required for family and friends.



Law School Class Photo
10:10 a.m., 
Steps of the Main Building (map)
At the conclusion of the Prayer Service, the Law School’s Class of 2019 will gather with faculty on the steps of Notre Dame’s Main Building for a class photo. Please join your classmates for the photo, even if you choose not to attend the Prayer Service.



Brunch for Law Graduates
10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Corbett Family Hall (map)
A brunch for Law School graduates and their guests will be hosted in the Downes Club Ballroom, which overlooks Notre Dame Stadium from the seventh floor of Corbett Family Hall. The price for brunch is $15 per person, free for children 5 and under. This event is optional for Law School graduates. (Click here to pay for brunch. The deadline to pay is Sunday, May 12.)

Law 

Diploma and Hooding Ceremony
12:30 p.m., Hesburgh Library Reflecting Pool

Each law graduate will walk across the stage and receive his or her diploma. Hooding refers to the placement of an academic hood over your shoulders to signify the completion of your law degree. Graduates need to begin lining up at 12:00 p.m.
Seating is plentiful at the ceremony. Tickets are not required.

University Commencement Mass*
5:00 p.m., 
Joyce Center, Purcell Pavilion (map)
Mass will be celebrated for all of the University’s graduates in Notre Dame’s basketball arena.
*Attendance is optional for Law School graduates.

Sunday, May 19

University Commencement Ceremony*
10:00 a.m., 
Notre Dame Stadium (map)
This ceremony is for all University of Notre Dame graduates. This year’s speaker is Wall Street Journal columnist Peggy Noonan, a former speechwriter for President Ronald Reagan.
Graduates should assemble at 8:45 a.m. The academic procession starts at 9:30 a.m.
Tickets are required, but seating is unlimited. Gates open for guests at 8:00 a.m.
*Attendance is optional for Law School graduates.
