Faculty at their Best

“We view ourselves as engaged in a single integrated mission that combines research, teaching and service. In our research and writing, we aspire to engage the legal academy at the highest level…Through our teaching, we seek to prepare our students to practice law with competence and compassion…Through our service, we strive to assist the University and other communities to which we belong…” —Excerpted from the Faculty Mission Statement

Staff at their Best

We guide students through the admissions process, schedule their classes, help them find employment, oversee law school finances, facilitate the use of technology and library resources, and assist faculty with their teaching and publishing. In these ways, we join in the law school’s quest to make Notre Dame a premier law school.

The Law at its Best

“In a world that too often sees knowledge as compartmentalized and truth as situational, Notre Dame is a place interested in the wholeness of truth. We are looking at universal truths, engaging the big questions, and discussing issues of ethics, morality, and social justice. In a faculty, staff, and student body which represent a wide spectrum of religious backgrounds and political views, we do not always agree on the answers to these fundamental questions. We are united, however, in our effort to raise these issues and to make them an integral part of our curriculum and scholarship.
