Champions for Justice honorees

Each year, the Notre Dame Law School recognizes a number of graduating students who have exhibited an exemplary commitment to public service during their time in law school.

The Champions for Justice ceremony, held on April 10, is named in honor of Father Theodore Hesburgh’s call for Notre Dame’s law students to cultivate a hunger for justice and "realize that competence in the law without compassion leads the lawyer to use the law for other purposes than the works of justice and blinds him to the sad plight of persons who suffer injustice for want of a lawyer champion."

The event celebrated recipients of the Law School's Shaffer and Bank of America Foundation Fellowships, those selected for the Department of Justice's Attorney General's Honors Program and other Government Honors Programs, students committed to the Judge Advocate General Corps, and those who earned the Tia B. Paulette & Erica S. Gustin Award for their commitment to furthering the mission of the Law School’s Exoneration Justice Clinic.
