Mallory E. Reader, '20 J.D. has been a named an associate at Foster Swift Collins & Smith's municipal practice group in the firm’s Grand Rapids office.

In addition to helping local units of government with their legal issues, Reader also practices in the areas of administrative law, licensing and election campaign finance law. Growing up Hartland, Michigan, Reader knew she wanted to be a lawyer since high school “I first became interested in law during my high school government class's unit on the judicial branch. My teacher taught us about Supreme Court cases impacting the rights of students, and I was instantly hooked.”

Before entering private practice, Reader worked for a prominent Washington DC think-tank where she authored amicus briefs on the topics of individual rights and administrative agency power.

Reader earned her Bachelor’s in Political Science, cum laude from Hope College prior to attending the University of Notre Dame Law School where she received her Juris Doctor.
