In Memoriam: Leo P. Cox ‘71 J.D.

It is with a heavy heart that the law school announces the passing of Leo Cox on May 17, 2021 in Neptune, New Jersey. Cox was president of his law class for all three years.

Cox was a former special agent of the FBI serving in the Ohio field office, from 1978 – 1981. He was Assistant Monmouth County Prosecutor where he was a trial attorney and legal instructor at the Monmouth County Police Academy. He also served as Deputy Chief of the Trial Section in the Prosecutor’s office. Cox was an attorney for the New Jersey Attorney General where he was senior trial attorney for the Division of Criminal Justice specializing in the Organized Crime and Racketeering Strike Force in Camden, NJ.
