John Michael ’94 BSME, ’98 JD, the radio network play by play announcer for the Cleveland Cavaliers, will be discussing his career moving from a big law firm to the sports broadcasting booth.

John received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 1994. He received his MBA and JD from Notre Dame in 1998. The native of Aliquippa, Pennsylvania, worked for Kirkpatrick Lockhart in Pittsburgh before embarking on his announcing career in minor league baseball and hockey while also serving as in-game host for the Columbus Blue Jackets. He was named Cavaliers’ announcer in October 2011. John’s wife is Julie Maund, member of the 1996 National Championship soccer team and tri-captain of the 1997 team that finished the season with a 23-1-1 record.
