He belongs to a number of professional organizations including the American Association of Law Libraries (member since 1985, recruitment committee member 1995-97), the Minnesota Association of Law Libraries (member 1986-90, newsletter editor 1988-90), the Western Pacific Chapter of Law Libraries (member 1990-94, newsletter editor 1991-94), the Ohio Regional Association of Law Libraries (member since 1994) and the American Bar Association (member since 1985).
