Bellia, O’Toole Professor of Constitutional Law at NDLS, gave an overview of the historic events leading to the trial and why it remains an important touchstone. Judge Jack Blakey, ’88, ’92 J.D., of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, explained why the issue of a free society under the Rule of Law is still an issue today. Stephen LaBrecque, an ND grad and Boston College 2L, argued for the prosecution, while Nico Howard, an NDLS 3L, argued for the defense.
