Mark P. McKenna, professor of law and Notre Dame Presidential Fellow, was honored Saturday as a member of Notre Dame’s 2017 All-Faculty Team. McKenna, who teaches and writes in the area of intellectual property, was recognized on the field during the Notre Dame-USC football game.

“Notre Dame is a great place to study intellectual property and technology law because it is a place where we are entirely comfortable thinking about what kinds of innovation really promote human flourishing. My colleagues and I don’t always agree about the best policies, but we share a sense that those policies are to be judged by their human impact, and that engagement across disciplines is critical to understanding the dimensions of problems and making progress on their solutions,” McKenna said.

“Notre Dame is also a great place to teach because the daily interactions between faculty and students reflect a deep sense of community and a commitment to using law to improve people’s lives. People come here because they feel that community, and their experience is richer because of it.”

The University’s Office of the Provost honors a different member of Notre Dame’s faculty at each home football game. The individuals on the All-Faculty Team are chosen from across Notre Dame’s colleges and schools for excellence in research, teaching, and service to the University.
