Notre Dame Law School’s Client Counseling team (Cliff Bowman and Allan MacQuarrie) placed second in the ABA Regional Client Counseling Competition held at DePaul University on February 12, 2011.

Twelve teams from law schools in Indiana, Illinois, and Wisconsin competed. The students interviewed clients, identified their legal issues and gave advice. This year’s topic was professional responsibility, and the judges gave all teams especially useful feedback.

Meanwhile, as a group, The Notre Dame Barristers Trial Team spent over 120 hours in the courtroom (and countless hours outside the courtroom) preparing and practicing for the National Trial Competition Regional that took place in Valparaiso, Indiana this past weekend.

In a field of 22 teams, the Notre Dame team of Shelby Conney, Tania Mistretta and Jerome McKeever advanced to the Regional Semi-final while the team of Kevin Chen, Michael Cimino and Brian McCarthy placed tenth.
