Professor Colleen Baker led students who are interested in business law on a tour of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange on April 8. The group also visited the nearby headquarters of the National Futures Association and stopped for lunch at the historic Berghoff restaurant in the Loop.

The trip was made possible by the Larry Bonner Endowment for Excellence in Commodities and Securities Law. Mr. Bonner graduated from the University of Notre Dame magna cum laude in 1977 and earned a law degree from Duke University School of Law in 1980. Sadly, Larry lost his 20-month battle with brain cancer in 2007.

In his memory, the Bonner family and Larry’s firm, HomerBonner, created the endowment as a perpetual fund for the Notre Dame Law School.

Professor Baker teaches Corporate Bankruptcy and Banking and Financial Institutions Law at Notre Dame. More information about Professor Baker is available here.
