3L Michael Gillman Awarded Peggy Browning Fellowship

The Peggy Browning Fund has awarded a 10-week summer fellowship to Michael Gillman, a rising 3L at NDLS. Gillman is spending the fellowship working at the Laborers’ International Union of North America in Washington, D.C.

Michael received his bachelor’s degree from Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. He has worked at the Community Justice Project in Miami, Florida, made two trips to Immokalee, Florida, to learn about the issues facing struggling farmworkers, and is pursuing a career in labor law.

The Peggy Browning Fund is a not-for-profit organization established in memory of Margaret A. Browning, a prominent union-side attorney who was a Member of the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) from 1994 until 1997. Peggy Browning Fellowships are highly competitive and provide law students with challenging work experiences that inspire students to pursue careers in public interest labor law.
