Professor O’Connell is the Robert and Marion Short Professor of Law and 
Research Professor of International Dispute Resolution—Kroc Institute. She is the author of “The Power and Purpose of International Law” (Oxford University Press, 2011) and editor of “What is War? An Investigation in the Wake of 9/11” (forthcoming Martinus Nijhof). Her primary research focuses on international legal regulation of the use of force and conflict and dispute resolution.
