Notre Dame Law School congratulates law students Sarah Burch (J.D. ’13) and Matt O’Rourke (Candidate for J.D. ’14), recent winners of the Region 7 American Bar Association Client Counseling Competition.

Held at Northern Illinois University College of Law on February 9-10, 2013, the competition focused on the topics of employment law and employment discrimination.

Burch and O’Rourke will compete at the competitions national finals, held at Baylor Law School, on March 22-23, 2013.

The Client Counseling Competition simulates a law office consultation in which law students, acting as attorneys, are presented with a client matter. They conduct an interview with a person playing the role of the client and then explain how they would proceed further in the hypothetical situation.
