Madhavi Seth recently published a chapter on malware detection using machine learning in Springer Nature, with collaborators from the Data Science and Privacy teams at CrowdStrike, Inc. The final paper is available on the publisher’s website. The chapter covers the history of malware, the current state of the malware ecosystem, the advantages of machine learning (ML) for detection, the unique challenges of operating ML-based detectors as part of a product, and legal and compliance considerations. In March 2025, Madhavi will also be celebrating two years as a Privacy Counsel at CrowdStrike, Inc.
