Finding your Perfect Fit

Author: Lauren Love

I’m sure you’ve heard family, faculty, and advisors talk about finding the “right fit.” Across the web are guides to help you determine which law school to attend but many of their suggestions may not be very helpful. You’re going to spend three years with people who will become your future colleagues and support for the rest of your lives. You want to learn more about the vast, widespread alumni network. You want to get a feel for the rigorous academics that will prepare you for your career and the strong job placement at NDLS. And you want to see the amazing community in action. The only way to do all of this is to visit campus and experience the distinctive qualities of the University of Notre Dame and the Law School. That’s how you will determine that right fit.

NDLS provides two formal programs to enable potential students to visit throughout the spring semester:

Admitted Student Weekends: March 24-25 & March 31-April 1.

The Admitted Student Weekend provides students with an opportunity to engage with members of the faculty, student body, alumni, as well as potential classmates. This day-and-a-half long event is a fun way to learn about what it will be like as a student at NDLS among many of your future peers. Some highlights of the program include:

  • A class visit to Property
  • Break-out sessions with our faculty
  • Individual meetings with financial aid counselors
  • A career development presentation
  • Panel discussions with current students and alumni
  • Social events with current students
  • The opportunity to simply get to know our community

RSVP to attend your preferred weekend here.

Spring Visit Program:
This program offers students the opportunity to visit on Monday, Wednesday or Friday. Friday visits are reserved for admitted students only. The program includes:

  • A class visit to Property
  • An information session with an admission counselor
  • Lunch and tour of the Law School with a current student
  • A Career Development information session
  • Optional campus tour and campus housing tour

To RSVP, simply select your preferred date on the visit calendar and complete the form available in the event description. If you would prefer to visit on a date not listed, please email lawadmit@nd.edu, and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

To assist with your visit to campus, we are happy to offer a travel stipend to all admitted students. Please check your admit packet for further information. You can also read a little more about how to use your stipend (as well as general travel and visit tips) on the Admitted Student Website.

We don’t want to tell you how we’re different, we want to show you. Come find out for yourself!
