Join us for a talk, The Good Life after the Age of Growth, with Prof. Daniel Markovits, Guido Calabresi Professor of Law, Yale Law School, on Friday, April 4.

The emergence of industrial capitalism created more wealth in two centuries than the rest of human history combined and is on track to end widespread poverty in the developing world. But growth is also damaging the planet, eroding our values & sowing social division.

Join Yale professor Daniel Markovits as he argues for a new social imperative and outlines how we can organise life beyond growth, create new social goals and find meaning beyond the line going up on the graph. How has growth transformed humanity and how is it undermining us? What does a society look like without growth? Can we fill the moral void growth leaves behind?

Prof. Markovits is also the founding director of the Center for the Study of Private Law at Yale Law School.

All are welcome and lunch will be provided.

Co-sponsored by the Notre Dame Law School Program on Private Law and the Notre Dame Research Program on Law and Market Behavior.
