FPAC's RICO Discussion

This event will be a discussion of the Illinois Street Gang and RICO law featuring Cook County ASA Thomas Darman, former Cook County ASA Dan Reedy, and former Cook County ASA and U.S. District Court Judge Jack Blakey. They will discuss the first successful prosecution under the act, People v. Spears, which occurred just last year. FPAC hopes the event will illustrate the differences between the Illinois and federal RICO laws, how the Illinois RICO statute came to be, and the difficulties in charging and developing a RICO case.
