Intellectual Property Law Society - Initial Meeting

-

Location: 1140 Eck Hall of Law

The Intellectual Property Law Society will be holding its first meeting next Tuesday, August 30 at 12:30 in Room 1140. Our goal for this meeting is to introduce incoming students to the IPLS. We will also hold elections for 1L representatives. Lunch will be provided.

Intellectual Property law includes the law of Copyrights, Patents, Trademarks, Trade Secrets, and other related areas of law. It is currently one law’s fastest growing areas and offers relatively strong career prospects. Contrary to popular belief, it is not necessary to have a science degree to practice most types of IP law.

The IPLS aims to foster leadership in, promote intellectual curiosity about, and encourage dialogue on IP law by providing a forum for intellectual inquiry. We do this by hosting guest speakers involved in various areas of IP law and providing mentorship for students interested in pursuing a career in or learning more about IP law.
