Devan N. Patel serves as an adjunct professor of law at Notre Dame Law School where he teaches in the ND Law in DC Program. 

In DC, Devan is Counsel and Senior Director of Legal Affairs at Allegiance Strategies, LLC. There, he oversees advocacy and legislative efforts, brief writing, and coalition building for a variety of causes including nondiscrimination protections, religious liberties, immigration and refugee policy, and family empowerment. Prior to that, he clerked for the Hon. Stephen S. Schwartz of the U.S. Court of Federal Claims.
Patel received his B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science from the George Washington University and his J.D. from Notre Dame Law School in 2020. In law school, Devan served as Student Bar Association President, Executive Legislative Editor of the Journal of Legislation, and as a Sorin Fellow of the de Nicola Center for Ethics and Culture. His op-eds and scholarly articles can be found at The Hill, the Journal of Legislation, and the Journal of Empirical Legal Studies.
