Application Status Information
To keep you apprised of the status of your application, we provide a link for applicants. You will receive an email indicating the link as well as your User ID and password shortly after we have received your application. In addition to the status checker on-screen message, we’ve developed a glossary to help you understand our status terms and process. You will likely notice that dates change in the status section even though the status did not actually change. This is simply an indication that your application is moving through our application process.
Application Incomplete – Your application has been received, but is not complete. The checklist can be used to determine what items are needed to complete the application. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
Application Complete – Your application is complete and ready for review. We use a holistic file review process that typically takes four to six weeks to complete. Decisions will be mailed on a rolling basis.
Decision Made – Our Committee has completed its review of your application. Your decision has been mailed to you. We NEVER release decisions by telephone.
Deposit Received – An admitted individual has paid the seat deposit required.
Declined Admission Offer – An applicant was offered admission but either decided not to attend, or failed to deposit by the deadline as stated in his or her decision letter.
Status on the Waitlist Confirmed – An applicant was offered further consideration through the waitlist process and has indicated he or she wants to receive further consideration.
Declined Waitlist Consideration – An applicant was offered further consideration through the waitlist process and either declined further consideration, or failed to respond by the deadline as stated in his or her decision letter.
Application Checklist Items
Application Fee – Your fee has been received or your application waiver has been processed. Either must be checked to complete your application.
Personal Statement – Required Personal Statement has been received, and must be checked in order to complete your application.
Resume – Required Resume has been received, and must be checked to complete your application.
CAS Report – Credential Assembly Services Report, including LSAT scores, transcripts, and letters of recommendation has been received, and must be checked to complete your application.
CF Requirements Met – The application includes questions regarding character and fitness. When this box is checked, you either responded “no” to all Character and Fitness questions, or “yes” to one or more questions, and provided an explanation for each affirmative answer. It must be checked to complete your application.
Not Registered for a Future LSAT – You are not registered for a future LSAT. This must be checked to complete your application.
Why Notre Dame Essay (Optional) – The optional essay discussing your specific interest in attending Notre Dame Law School has been received.
TOEFL Score Required (If Applicable) – The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is required for our international applicants. If an international applicant completed his or her undergraduate education in the United States, the TOEFL is not required.
