Assistant Dean for Students Gail Peshel joined the Law School in 2000 and served as Director of Career Services until she was named Assistant Dean in 2004. As Assistant Dean, she serves as the principal liaison between the Law School administration and students; as such, she is the final arbiter on matters relating to students and student organizations. She has oversight responsibility for the offices of Admissions, Student Services, Career Services, and of the Law School Registrar.

Dean Peshel participates in both state and national organizations, such as the National Association for Law Placement, the Indiana State Bar Association, the Indiana Bar Foundation, the Indiana CLEO Advisory Committee, and the Chicago Bar Association. She is a member of the Board of Governors for the Indiana State Bar Association, 2006-2008 and is a member of the ISBA’s Professional Legal Education, Admission & Development Committee. Her involvement includes service through the Pro Bono Committee of the Indiana Bar Foundation, 2002-2007 and the Indiana CLEO Advisory Committee, 2001-2007. She was President of the National Association for Law Placement, co-chaired the Chicago Bar Association Career Assistance Committee, and chaired two Indiana Women in Law conferences. Dean Peshel has over twenty years of career services experience and is known as one of the nation’s leading experts in legal career services. Prior to joining the Notre Dame Law School, Dean Peshel served as Assistant Dean for Career Services at Valparaiso University School of Law.

Dean Peshel earned her J.D. from Valparaiso University School of Law in 2000 and her B.S. in Business Administration from Valparaiso University in 1990. She was admitted to the Bar in the State of Indiana in 2000.
