Ellen served as Treasurer of the Student Bar Association and President of the Sports, Communication and Entertainment Law Forum. She also worked as a legal clerk in the University Office of the Vice President and General Counsel.

While a student at Notre Dame Law School, Ellen took part in a number of public interest efforts. Notably, she performed client intake for Indiana Legal Services (ILS), which provides legal aid to low income Hoosiers. Additionally, she provided legal defense to inmates in need of assistance at the St. Joseph County Jail.

Prior to law school, Ellen, a Certified Public Accountant based out of New York City, had a ten-year career in accounting, auditing and consulting. After graduation from Cornell University, she began her career in the Audit Department of Price Waterhouse and later moved to the Consulting Division of what soon became PricewaterhouseCoopers. In 2000, Ellen moved to Arthur Andersen where she was a manager in the Business Consulting practice. After Arthur Andersen’s demise, she served as Director of Internal Control Standards and Procedures for a New York-based health insurance company. During her career, Ellen worked across various industries, including products and healthcare, and many geographic areas, including stints in San Francisco, Boston, Tampa and London.
