You’ve confirmed your enrollment. What’s next?
We are so excited that you have chosen to confirm your enrollment and will join the Class of 2019 at Notre Dame Law School. I am sure you are beginning to focus on securing housing and are checking off other items on your pre-law school to-do list. While we will be in touch with you throughout the summer, here are a few important items to take care before you arrive for orientation in August:
Second Seat Deposit & Confirmation Form – Due June 1
To continue to reserve your seat in the Class of 2019, please complete the second confirmation form along with the $400 seat deposit by June 1. You can log in to our confirmation system via the form found at confirmlaw.nd.edu with your LSAC number and birthdate. If you chose to pay the entire seat deposit in April you will still need to complete the second confirmation form. If you encounter any issues with the confirmation form, please email our office at email@example.com. You can read more about the confirmation process on our previous blog post titled “Confirming Your Enrollment.”
Set Up Notre Dame email – June 15
After you confirmed your enrollment at NDLS you will have received your NetID. With your NetID you are able to log in to set-up and access your email. You can find helpful information about this process on the Office of Information Technology’s website. Our office will begin to contact you exclusively at your Notre Dame email beginning on June 15.
Health Information – Due July 15
All students need to submit a Medical History and Physical Form and vaccination history to University Health Services by July 15. Any Notre Dame student graduating in 2016 only needs to update their contact information and indicate their most recent year of enrollment. University Health Services will keep your current record active.
Graduate students must be covered by a health insurance plan. You will automatically be enrolled in the student insurance plan unless proof of comparable coverage is provided. You can learn more about the University-sponsored insurance plan as well as obtain a waiver through the University Health Services website.
Final Transcript – Due July 15
If you are a recent graduate you must submit your degree-confirmed transcript to LSAC by July 15. LSAC will process your transcript and update NDLS.
Secure your housing. Students generally find that finding a nice, affordable apartment or house in our community is easy. The Notre Dame community offers students ample options both on and off campus. You may want to check out a previous blog post on housing to learn more about your housing options as well as the roommate identification form offered by our office. During the summer our office will be in touch to update our records with your local address.
Confirm Financial Aid
If you are opting into the scholarship and loans listed in your financial aid statement, no immediate action is needed. You will need to sign your Master Promissory Note before you are eligible to receive your loan funds. The Master Promissory Note is a legal document in which you promise to repay your loan(s) and any accrued interest and fees. We strongly urge you to read more about managing student loans here. You can find many resources on the Financial Awareness for Law Students page.
If you are declining a scholarship or loan or are interested in additional loan options (such as the Federal Direct PLUS Loan), please contact the Office of Financial Aid at 574-631-6436.
