Kristen Fletcher was named a Distinguished Environmental Law Graduate of Lewis & Clark Law School where she received a Masters of Environmental and Natural Resources Law (LL.M.) in 1998. The award recognizes significant contributions to the environmental and natural resources law field. Fletcher has worked in environmental law and policy, specifically ocean and coastal law, for more than seventeen years. Fletcher has directed grant programs, taught law and graduate students in the areas of Ocean and Coastal Law, Natural Resources Law, and Fisheries Law. From 2007-2012, Fletcher was the Executive Director of Coastal States Organization (CSO) which represents governors of the nation’s 35 coastal states and territories regarding ocean, coastal, and Great Lakes issues. Currently Fletcher is the Principal of Fletcher Coastal Consulting in Pacific Grove, California where her work includes advancing coastal management at the state, regional, and national levels.
