Brian Ellixson has joined national labor and employment firm, Fisher Phillips, as an associate in its Philadelphia office. As an employment and trade secrets litigator, Ellixson will focus on trade secrets, restrictive covenants, non-disclosure agreements, unfair competition and employee raiding within his practice. In addition to working with the Employee Defection and Trades Secrets and Litigation practice groups, he will also work with the Data Security and Workplace Privacy practice group on issues related to federal and state data protection laws, and security breach response, social media and electronic communication policies.
Faegre Baker Daniels is pleased to announce that Blake Angelino has been hired as an associate in its product liability group. Angelino will practice from the law firm’s Chicago office. In addition to product liability issues, Angelino represents clients in mass tort litigation, class action litigation, commercial litigation, construction litigation, and oil and gas litigation. Before joining Faegre Baker Daniels, Angelino was an associate with a large law firm in Ohio.

Pianowski is admitted to practice before the courts of the states of Indiana, Illinois and Michigan and before the U.S. District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Indiana and the Western District of Michigan. Adjei joins the firm from the Harris County District Attorney’s Office where he served as an Assistant District Attorney. Adjei will focus his practice at the firm on representing people who have been injured as a result of negligence, including premises liability accidents and automobile accidents. During his time at Notre Dame Law School, Adjei formed a team to compete in the National Black Law Students Association Mock Trial Competition where his team won the Midwest regional Championship and advanced to the National competition.
Faegre Baker Daniels is pleased to announce that Eric Nichols has joined the firm as an associate in its South Bend office. Nichols will practice in the finance and restructuring group. Nichols served nearly 20 years as a firefighter, including more than a decade of full-time employment, and is also an eight-year veteran of the U.S. Navy Reserve, where he served as a hospital corpsman in both clinical and field operations and deployed in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
Fisher Phillips is pleased to announce that Brittany Brantley has joined the firm as an associate in its Cleveland, Ohio office. Brantley will represent employers in a wide range of labor and employment matters, including business litigation and employment discrimination. Before joining Fisher Phillips, Brantley was an associate at Frantz Ward LLP, where she focused her practice on business litigation and employment discrimination matters. Before that, Brantley was a judicial extern for alumna Judge Nora Barry Fischer of the United States District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.

The American Heart Association recently named Stites & Harbison, PLLC attorney Reggie Bentley to serve on its Kentuckiana Metro Board of Directors for a three-year term. Salvi Schostok & Pritchard P.C. is pleased to announce that Eirene Salvi has accepted a position with the firm. Salvi comes to the firm from a prominent Plaintiff’s personal injury firm in Chicago. Salvi concentrates her legal practice on cases involving medical malpractice, personal injury and product liability. In her first trial, she helped obtain a verdict of over $1 million on behalf of a victim of medical malpractice. She is also interested in immigration law and ensuring that immigrants have access to justice.
Elizabeth Scarola has joined the firm of Carlton Fields as an associate in the firm’s Health Care practice group. Prior to joining the firm, Scarola served as an extern at Together Health Network, where she assisted in a variety of operational and legal projects for a large healthcare network.
Robert Theofanis is an associate in his father’s firm, The Law Office of Theofanis & Davidson, where he practices in the area of workers compensation. Theofanis married Alexandra Fries, ’13 J.D. in Santa Barbara and the couple now resides in Los Angeles.

Gregory Bohan Ge focuses his practice in real estate and business transactions where he advises domestic and international clients on property acquisitions, office and retail leasing, joint ventures and securities law compliance.
Jennifer Hernandez joined the firm of Avila Rodriguez Hernandez Mena & Ferri LLP, in Miami. Hernandez will practice in the firm’s Litigation and Arbitration Practice. Hernandez was named to the 2014 and 2015 Florida Super Lawyers “Rising Stars” list. Hernandez is also a board member for the Notre Dame Alumni Club of Miami.
Megan Meyer has been hired as Real Estate Counsel at Port Cincinnati Development Authority, an economic development agency that initiates projects to increase jobs and regional prosperity through real estate and community development.
Katherine Merck, a Notre Dame undergrad and current student at Gonzaga Law School, was crowned Miss Rodeo America and received a $25K scholarship which she plans to use toward an LL.M. in Tax. Merck’s plan is that her practice will eventually include helping farmers and ranchers with estate planning and water rights. Read more…

In early June, Michael Hagerty, ‘13 J.D., a staff attorney with Public Counsel, a non-profit legal aid firm in Los Angeles, was in Visalia for the first time to represent a client in the Tulare County Probate Court. On that day a crucial guardianship hearing was set to take place—one that Hagerty knew was likely to determine the ultimate fate of his client’s immigration case. Though the process is complex, Hagerty knew that a favorable decision that day meant his client would likely get his green card eventually. A negative decision could very well have meant removal from the United States.
Samantha Winter joined Sacks Tierney in Scottsdale, Arizona as an estate and tax planning attorney. When not practicing law, she is an accomplished singer, having performed the National Anthem at numerous sporting events.
Amelia Yowell, J.D. ’11, has been selected as the 2015-2016 Supreme Court Fellow assigned to the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts.
