Daniel Salemi has been named equity partner at the Chicago law firm Franczek Radelet. He is co-chair of the firm’s Employee Benefits Practice and represents clients in the private and public sectors in all areas of employee benefits law.
Julie Maurer was presented with one of five Awards of Professional Distinction from Missouri University of Science and Technology. The award recognizes outstanding Missouri Science and Technology graduates for professional achievement. Maurer is an attorney with Jennings, Strouss & Salmon in Phoenix and practices primarily in the commercial litigation group.
Johnathan Bridges joined the faculty of UNT Dallas College of Law as an Assistant Professor of Law, having most recently served as a partner in the firm of Susman Godfrey LLP. Professor Bridges will teach Property, Evidence, Legal Writing, and other subjects.
Justin Stolte, a senior associate at Latham & Watkins LLP, in Houston, was named to Law360’s 2015 top energy attorneys under 40. FBI Supervisory Special Agent, Thomas Olohan, received the FBI’s highest honor of the Director’s Award for Excellence in 2015 due to his work in a sensitive human source operation run jointly with the Department of Defense. Additionally, Olohan was honored with an Anti-Defamation League 2015 SHIELD Award for his role in an investigation that resulted in the incarceration of a US-based individual. The SHIELD Award recognizes major success in the fight against hate crimes, terrorism, and the protection of civil rights.

Cynthia Cordes, a partner with Husch Blackwell in Kansas City, Missouri, has again been named among the 2015 Benchmark Litigation Top 250 Women in Litigation. Cordes is one of only six women selected in the state of Missouri for this honor and was chosen for the first time last year.

Susan Trujillo, a partner at Quarles & Brady in Phoenix, Arizona has been elected vice president of the Community Legal Services, Inc. board of directors. Community Legal Services is an Arizona nonprofit that provides legal assistance, advice and representation to individuals below the federal poverty level. Trujillo is chair of the health care practice group at Quarles & Brady.
Kurt Oreshack has been hired as General Counsel for Human Longevity, Inc. (HLI) in San Diego. HLI is a biotech company developing advances in personalized medicine in part by building the world’s most comprehensive database of human genomes and associated health data. Oreshack brings experience as a corporate and securities attorney to help guide HLI’s pioneering healthcare work. Oreshack has structured and negotiated hundreds of millions of dollars in debt and equity investments in private and public company clients. In his previous position at Gunderson Dettmer, LLP, Oreshack served as an external General Counsel to HLI and similar companies.
Mark Rosenberg has joined the firm of Timoney Knox, LLP in its Fort Washington, PA office. Rosenberg’s practice focuses on advising and representing clients from domestic and international insurers on insurance coverage, class action and bad faith matters.

Robert Driscoll became a shareholder in Reinhart Boerner Van Deuren in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Driscoll is a member of the firm’s Labor and Employment Practice. His practice encompasses a variety of areas in labor and employment law, including defending employers against claims of unlawful discrimination and/or retaliation, handling disputes over restrictive covenants, drafting non-compete agreements, defending unfair labor practice charges, handling grievance arbitrations and representing clients in appeals. Driscoll also counsels employers on wage issues, including guiding employers through government wage investigations, and has defended employers against both class-action and individual wage claims.
Jane Hahn has been named a partner at Howard & Howard Attorneys, in its Chicago office. Hahn concentrates her practice in business and corporate law. She represents lenders in secured and unsecured financings including loan workouts and restructurings, term and revolving loans, working capital and letter-of-credit facilities. Hahn has also been recently named a 2015 Illinois Rising Star in the area of Business/Corporate.

The Notre Dame community is deeply saddened by the loss of Drew Haase. Drew was an Adjunct Assistant Professional Specialist of Political Science at the University of Notre Dame where he was the head coach for the undergrad mock trial team that will head to Nationals later this month. He was currently employed as a Law Clerk with the United States District Court, Northern District of Indiana. Previously Drew had practiced law at Jenner & Block in Chicago from 2009 to 2013. Cordell Carter has been named CEO of TechTown Global, the network of youth-focused technology and entrepreneurial learning centers. Carter was former chief of staff and director of operations for U.S. programs at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Carter will oversee efforts to grow the centers nationwide. TechTown’s first location, its headquarters, will open in the summer of 2015 in the Chattanooga Lifestyle Center. Carter brings leadership experience in both technology and education.
NDLS grad Sean Seymore has been named a Chancellor Faculty Fellow by Vanderbilt University.
The appointment extends over two fiscal years and includes additional funding designed to support Professor Seymore’s innovative research into how patent law should evolve in response to scientific advances and how the intersection of law and science should influence the formulation of public policy.
Mark Emery has been promoted to partner at Norton Rose Fulbright in its Washington, D.C. office. Emery focuses his practice on appellate and dispute resolution matters. He has briefed cases to the US Supreme Court and has argued cases in numerous other federal and state appellate courts.
