Patrick A. Salvi, J.D. ’78, has been presented with the 2011 Career Achievement Award by Cook County’s Jury Verdict Reporter and the Law Bulletin Publishing Company.
The Award is presented to lawyers who have secured at least five Illinois civil jury verdicts of at least $5 million (not counting settlements and bench trials).
The Award was presented at the Cook County Jury Verdict Reporter’s annual Awards for Trial Lawyer Excellence at the University Club in Chicago October 26.
An adjunct professor of law at Notre Dame, Mr. Salvi is the managing equity partner of Salvi, Schostok & Pritchard, the Chicago and Waukegan, Illinois, firm he established in 1982.

Lt. Cmdr. Robert L. Miller, Sr., has been named recipient of the 2011 Rev. William Corby, C.S.C., Award for his distinguished military service. Lt. Cmdr. Miller is a former Superior Court Judge and a Naval officer in World War II. He received the Purple Heart for wounds received in the battle of Okinawa. After earning his law degree at Notre Dame, Miller remained involved in veterans’ issues during a career as a lawyer and judge. He founded “Miller’s Vets” in 2009 to assist impoverished veterans, giving them housing, military uniforms, “boot camp” refreshers, and chances to participate in parades and community events.
