Beloved Richard G. Harbinger passed away January 17, 2014 in Santa Monica California. He was 90. He had a distinguished career as a CA Deputy Attorney General and a CA Deputy District Attorney. One of his many notable cases was the People v. William and Emily Harris and Patricia Hearst. He was special assistant to the president of The American Bar Assn. He served on the Board of the International Association of Jewish Lawyers and Jurists and the Beverly Hills Bar Foundation. Richard taught at many law schools in China. He has written many legal articles. He will be missed.
Joseph P. Reid has joined Perkins Coie, San Diego office, as partner in the firm’s Patent Litigation practice. Reid has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in district courts nationwide, as well as the ITC and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. He has extensive experience in multi-defendant cases and cases involving industry standards. Reid has worked on dozens of cases, including ten that culminated in a jury or bench trial. Of particular note, he had a significant role in defending Microsoft Corporation against Lucent Technologies and the Multimedia Patent Trust in a series of trials that forged new damages law and were named among the “Top 10 Litigation Wins of 2008” by IP Law and Business.
Luke E. Debevec has been promoted to partner at Reed Smith LLP in the firm’s Philadelphia office. Luke is a member of the Insurance Recovery Group and has experience litigating, arbitrating, and settling numerous types of insurance, captive insurance, and reinsurance disputes. This includes coverage for environmental pollution and contamination claims; products liability litigation; liabilities faced by pharmaceutical companies, hospitals, and healthcare organizations; claims against churches and other religious organizations; civil rights cases and other municipal or governmental liabilities; fidelity and crime losses; claims arising from complex financial and real estate transactions; and first-party property losses.
Jamie Billotte Moses, has been appointed by The Florida Bar Board of Governors to serve on the Florida Realtor-Attorney Joint Committee. Moses focuses her practice on professional malpractice litigation, including a wide range of legal matters involving real estate brokers and salespersons, appraisers and title companies. She is a Florida Bar Board Certified Specialist in Appellate Practice and a Florida Supreme Court Certified Circuit Civil Mediator.
Illinois Super Lawyers has named Patrick A. Salvi ‘78 one of the Top 10 Illinois Super Lawyers for 2014, out of more than 90,000 lawyers in the state. Brian P. Lennon has been named partner at Warner Norcross & Judd LLP. His whose practice focuses on criminal defense, particularly health care fraud and other white collar and drug offenses, corporate internal investigations and compliance matters. Lennon also serves as chair of the firm’s Higher Education Practice Group and is a member of the board of trustees of the Michigan Colleges Foundation. Before joining the firm, he served as a federal prosecutor in Michigan and Virginia for 15 years, as a trial attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Division, and as a judge advocate in the U.S. Marine Corps. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Federal Bar Association, State Bar of Michigan, Grand Rapids Bar Association and the American Health Lawyers Association.

Julie E. Ravis has been named a Shareholder of the firm Stevens & Lee effective January 1, 2014. She concentrates her practice in complex commercial litigation with a particular focus on litigation involving financial products and services. She also represents clients in a variety of commercial disputes at the trial and appellate levels, including contractual disputes, fraud, shareholder derivative claims and breach of fiduciary duty.
