Bishop Kevin Rhoades to Celebrate the Red Mass

Bishop Kevin Rhoades of the Catholic Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend will lead a traditional Red Mass on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 5:15 pm in the Basilica of the Sacred Heart.

The purpose of the Red Mass is to invoke God’s blessings on those responsible for the administration of justice as well as on all public officials. This annual mass is open to all faiths and encouraged for those working in law and politics.

After mass, those in attendance are welcomed for a reception in the Eck Commons, Eck Hall of Law.

The event is co-sponsored by the University of Notre Dame Political Science Department, the Law School, and the Diocese of Fort Wayne/South Bend. If planning to attend mass, RSVP is requested to: haustgen@diocesefwsb.org.
